Boston Redevelopment Authority was given the responsibility to handle the projects related to housing and commercial centers in Boston. Municipal Corporation realized the need of making the authority for keeping an eye on the development of Boston and constructing the houses and commercial centers for the benefit of the people. Massachusetts Legislation and Boston City council both realized the need to establish the body that can take the responsibility of housing authority of Boston. In 1957 Boston redevelopment Authority came into existence and in the year 1960 City planning board who used to handle the responsibility of planning the city was dissolved and all the powers were rested to Boston redevelopment Authority.

2. Master plans were developed by the efficient architects and engineers working in the company. Master plans were made by the Boston Development Authority for economic development of the city. Boston is one of the oldest cities of US and it was the main center for commerce and trade in Massachusetts. Rose Kennedy Greenway and Harbor plans are few major projects that are quite popular among people because of great effort of Boston redevelopment Authority.
3. Guidelines were issued by the Boston Redevelopment Authority for plans were made for the development of the city. The land was owned by the government and plans were made for the development of commerce area and houses.
4. Industries were developed by the Boston Redevelopment Authority for giving placement to the people. Placement of the people belonging to different groups was the aim for developing the technical centers and commercial areas. Many support services are required for developing industries and commerce centers and this was kept in mind by the authorities.
5. Many parts of the city were required to be demolished by the development authority but it faced lot of negative reaction and many people didn’t like the proceedings of the Boston Redevelopment authorities. New government Center was developed by the BRA and western area of Boston was also demolished for new construction.

Many new and old projects are in the hands of Boston Redevelopment Authority and BRA is doing all efforts to develop technical parks for all round development.
